Here when disaster strikes
The Banfield Foundation funded a custom-built 38-foot mobile transport and disaster response truck and trailer for our partners at Humane Society of Tulsa (HST), a leader in animal transport. The new vehicle transports 5,000 pets annually, deploying to help pets in need after a disaster as well as to support mobile spay, neuter and adoption events across Oklahoma and in communities throughout the United States.
Banfield Foundation’s HOPE Funds program
With the support of Banfield Associates, the Banfield Foundation’s HOPE Funds (Helping Overcome Pet Emergencies) help financially qualifying pet owners with the cost of care. K-Boy’s owners noticed he was exhibiting signs of anaphylaxis. They rushed him to the nearest vet hospital — and were turned away. Then they went to the next, and the next, with the same answer. With minimal funds and time running out, the family found a Banfield Pet Hospital team who immediately admitted him and got to work! The team knew K-Boy’s life-saving care was of greater importance than the owner’s ability to fund it, so once K-Boy was stable the team contacted the foundation for help! With grant dollars from HOPE Funds grant dollars supporting the cost of care, the owners were able to focus on their pet and bring him home happy and healthy.
Teacher’s pet
Banfield doctors and credentialed veterinary technicians love inspiring the next generation of veterinary professionals in their own communities through our K – 12 career outreach program, Banfield Pet Academy. Pet Academy recently celebrated a cumulative milestone of 100,000 youths reached, making it what we believe to be the largest program of its kind in the veterinary industry. Banfield’s national partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America is one of the ways we’re helping to foster a more diverse profession, connecting with youth from historically marginalized communities to encourage them to pursue their dreams and consider a future in veterinary medicine.

Banfield Pet Academy®
Banfield provides free presentation materials and fun giveaways to support our veterinarians and credentialed veterinary technicians in sharing their passion for pets and the profession with thousands of children in their own communities every year.
Mars Volunteer Program
Hospital teams have the opportunity to volunteer during work hours for company-sponsored activities at shelters, dog parks, food banks and more, helping vulnerable pets and people in their local areas.
SAVD and Shelter services
To increase the likelihood of adoption for shelter pets, Banfield offers discounted services to qualifying nonprofits through our Shelter Animal Veterinary Discount program (SAVD), and up to three days of no-cost preventive care to shelters and rescues every time we open a new location.
Banfield Foundation Care Knows No Boundaries
Associates can take part in volunteer work around the globe through a grant program to help with travel expenses.
