Salary Range: $100,531 - $138,230 (DOE)
Summary and Qualifications:
Develop, implement, and embed veterinary field programs, ensuring that hospital associates have the equipment, tools and resources needed to work at the top of their skillset to provide high-quality patient care and support a team-based approach.
Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
- Lead veterinary field initiatives, drive planning, change management and implementation of projects and programs, ensuring associate skill utilization and a team-based approach to deliver quality medical care.
- Ensure team-based care projects and programs are inclusive of each hospital role, allowing everyone to operate at the top of their capabilities.
- Act as veterinarian consult on veterinary equipment and formulary catalog for Veterinary Affairs, Mars Veterinary Health (MVH) Commercial, Facilities, Regulatory Compliance, Finance and Medical Equipment teams.
- Act as a subject matter expert representing Veterinary Affairs and the field to advise on continuous improvement of our optimum wellness plan product to maintain alignment with the six domains of quality and industry standards.
- Drive continual improvement in Veterinary Affairs projects, programs, and processes and leverage and develop effective feedback loops for veterinary field project or program improvements.
- Ensure timely resolution of program issues and risks, assessing the impact and escalating when necessary.
- Track and report out on key performance indicators to ensure veterinary field programs are meeting objectives.
- Act as Veterinary Affairs team resource for Central Team Support (CTS) teams, hospital associates and field leaders, performing necessary research to answer questions fully and accurately.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with hospital, field, and CTS associates and leadership to effectively deliver objectives.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Special Working Conditions:
- Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time.
- Project timelines and work volume / deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.
- Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics, and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 25 pounds.
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.
- The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.
- Environment where pets are present.
Experience, Education and/or Training:
- DVM/VMD or foreign equivalent is required.
- At least three years of experience practicing as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or leading veterinary teams are required.
- Multi-unit veterinary hospital leadership experience is required.
- Experience with empowering each hospital role to the full extent of their skillsets is required.
- Change management experience is preferred.
